When Jim Carrey was a ‘starving actor’ one night in 1990 while looking down on Los Angeles and dreaming of his future, Carrey wrote himself a check for 10 million dollars and put in the notation line "for acting services rendered".
He dated the check for Thanksgiving 1995 and he stuck it in his wallet. He gave himself 5 years. And just before Thanksgiving 1995 he got paid $10,000,000 for the movie ‘Dumb and Dumber’.

In Benjamin Harding’s book ‘Willpower Doesn’t Work’, he makes an excellent case for the influential power of your environment. He takes it down to the genetic level quoting the preeminent cellular biologist and leader of the new science ‘epigenetics’ Bruce Lipton, “the signals from your environment are responsible for your genetic makeup far more than the DNA you were born with”.
If we do not create and control our environment, our environment creates and controls us. This includes the people around you. The expectations of those around you establish your own personal rules and expectations. Psychologist call this the Pygmalion effect.
So instead of trying to prequalify to be someone, create the environment that will qualify You to become that person now.
I have been aware of the power of the environment both external and internal for decades. And that is one reason we pick such a spectacular ‘environment’ to hold our ‘Healing Retreat , 'Celebrating Your IN-Depen-Dance’.

“Escalation of Commitment” a term used in psychology and economics- Basically stated, putting yourself in situations knowing that a high investment will produce enormous inner commitment. And this is exactly what the highest achievers in the world do. They aren’t dreamers, they are DOERS. Because they have skin in the game.
One of the best ways to experience an ‘Escalation of Commitment’ is to hire a mentor who is brilliant at what you want to do.
If you don't pay for something, you rarely pay attention.
Most people want stuff that's free.
But if you haven't invested your money, resources, or time, it’s incredibly difficult to invest yourself.
How much do you invest in yourself?
How much of yourself have you invested?
How committed are you to yourself?
If you aren't investing in yourself, then you don't have any skin in the game of your own life.
If you aren't invested in your business, you probably won't do high quality work.
If you're not invested in your relationships, you’re probably more focused on what you can get than what you can give
