Before I started my journey into the world of health and healing, if somebody said to me, “Hey, there’s a class on breathing,” I’d be like, “And why would I go to that? Watch? I’m breathing like, why would I need to do that?”.
It’s true that as long as we have a lifeforce running through the body, breath is happening. It’s an involuntary process.
But biological breathing is not the same as conscious breathing.
Many people don’t realize that there is another whole world of existence when we employ conscious breathing.
You can be an active participant in breathing, and there are a multitude of benefits when you do this.
In this episode we discuss:
Cultural perspectives on breathing and breathe
The physiology and anatomy of breathing
What we can learn from breathing in nature, from trees and plants to dolphins and alligators
What humans do with their breathing, overtime, from conditioning, trauma, and stress
How to experience your emotions and life consciously
A few examples of what conscious breathing actually looks like
Breath allows us to stay present to life. Get back to your breath. It’ll keep you present.
